Two large pythons removed from the (so far) only house on a new estate. The estate was on of those where they bulldoze and burn all the the vegetation then poison the soil. There was a tiny patch of remnant vegetation there but the bulldozers were nearby.

I suppose they want to kill the seed bank and any potential for regrowth? Not too sure.. Maybe barren wasteland is the new thing.

Why do they poison the soil?

Poisoning the soil before building on blocks is beyond STUPID. Wonder how many home buyers with young children know the soil their kids (toddlers) are coming into contact with has been poisoned ?

A very Qld thing to do. After all they're still lobbing 1080 baits into vast swathes of country.

Nice snakes! Glad you got them before the dozers did.

Good to see some nice big healthy adults out the wild populations.

Yeah its for termites... I was talking about this with dad last night who is a pest controller and said they do it for that. He said its safer than what people make it out to be. The stuff they used to use was even worse but that is now banned, simply because a toad could not even walk across somebodies yard without being dead before it got to the other side... He has seen this and is shocking, the new formula they use is realtivly safe... Beutiful snakes by the way :)
