iv read in places that its ok to put a click-clack in a glass enclosure while the snake is growing up?
but iv also read its not okay to do so :?
which one is it?:?:?
Heat mat is fine under a click clack as long as you do not have anymore than 2/3 of the floor space heated
Gee personally i wouldnt put any more than 1/4 of the tub on a heat mat, perferably 1/5 is ideal imo.
2/3 of the tub on a heat mat is WAY too much.
Ok i will quantify my statement, if 2/3 of click clack has the heat mat under it 1 hide is on full heat for digestion another hide sits 1/2 on hot and 1/2 on cool for comfort and another hide sits on full cool if the lil 1 gets too hot and wants to cool down. I have 1/4in dowels under the click clacks between them and the heat mat for air flow, my lil 1s use all three hides depending on the ambient temp and they are happy as pigs in mud, the temps in the hides are : hide 1 34 deg, hide 2 28-30 deg and hide 3 ambient, i should not have said 1/3, 1/3, 1/3. this has been measured with 3 seperate digital thermometers. ......................................Ron
Lawra,
They must be 6-8 foot long lol.
Its the only way you could get the cold end of the tub to be any where close to ambient if 2/3 of the tub is heated, and even then i dought it would be.
Heating 2/3 of a hatchie tub is absurd.
