Can anyone let me know what's involved in shipping a snake from WA to Queensland.
Thanks.

The seller will need details of both people. They will do up QLD movement advices and send them with the snakes. The snakes will need to be packaged appropriately. That includes a sealed container, something that will keep the temperature constant, ventilation, an eski works well. They should also be packaged safely inside, lots of padding so they can't move around.

Im pretty sure nothing can be imported or exported from WA
Come on if you don't know the facts then please refrain from commenting.
You can export anything that is on our keepers list. And import anything on the keepers list EXCEPT for pythons. As the powers that be believe the rest of the country has diseased ridden stock.

lol!!!

If the information that the NSW 'powers that be' have been putting out is correct, there have been a couple outbreaks of the sunshine virus. It would suck if that moved around any more than it already is, and it would suck way more if it made it into wild animals. Until we have a better idea of how it spreads, where it came from, and it's incubation time... preventing the import of pythons makes enough sense.

As much as I'd love a GTP, it doesn't bother me too much. It means local WA breeders have a chance to keep things pure and our return on stock isn't influenced by the mass breeding over east. Normal carpets still sell from $400-$1000

WA also had an outbreak at a DEC facility back in the day, though at the time it was thought to be IBD/opmv. Sunshine wasn't known about then, so who knows if it was or not. The WA ban points specifically to IBD,

Sunshine virus is already in WA, and has been for decades. It was thought to be OPMV, but Tim Hyndman's research has pretty much failed to find OPMV in this country.
