Hi everyone,

I have been reading up on bearded dragons and it has said that they love reptile hammocks but my brother thinks its a waste of money so i thought i would ask if i should buy one or not??

no need. They don't have hammocks in the wild.

They do when they go camping ;)

Hammocks are good to provide shade and height. But you can just as easily find something more natural to put in there instead. :)

cage furniture is a personal choice, put in whatever takes your hearts desire.
Some people go for minimal, some people like to put in everything they can find.I like to keep it sort of open but have a cave,a rock,a big branch a feed & water bowl (yes I know beardies don't drink but mine like to soak on hot days) with a big open space.
As long as you have a basking spot and a cool area

I imagine over time the hammock would deteriorate from constant exposure to UVB plus a basking shelf/tile will hold heat a lot longer.
