Hi All.

I've got a clutch of Coastal Carpet eggs that were laid on 24th December all nice and healthy looking with vines showing when candled. They have been incubated at about 31 degrees 80 precent humidity.

A few days in, the eggs stared to sink a little but still looked healthy.

A couple of days ago, i noticed 2 of the eggs started showing clear patches on them. The patches have slowly spread and now take up the whole egg. Picture is attached. Has this egg gone bad or is it a sign of it about to hatch?

Thanks!

I had a clutch do the same at the end of last year. Only 3 out of 11 made it. Had nothing to do with incubation, same set up hatched 9/9 at the same time. Spoke with my reptile vet when I was there last and because the male has been a stud to other clutches she said if the same thing happens next time the female might not be a great breeder but if all goes well she said it could just be the fact it was her first year.
