Feeding Help

Hey everyone I have a male Irian Jaya who is about 4 years old now and he is the most stubborn feeder ever he will not touch rats at all !!! and this is getting frustrating because he is now more than large enough to be eating rats but just wont touch them does anyone have any tips or tricks that will make him eat rats.I feed him frozen thawed right now. So far i have tried scenting a rat with dirty mouse bedding, assist feeding, washing the rat with soap and then scenting it with mouse. But none of these have worked. Would i get a better feeding response if i fed him a live rat ? If anyone has any tips please let me know.

if hes eating mice, offer a mouse, then hold a rats head to the mouses bum as hes swallowing it and he should continue to swallow.
Try that for a few feeds to get him used to the taste of rat, then try offering a rat only.

As chris1 said, roger lester has a great method to get them eating rats.

people use different threads but I just use normal fine cotton and have had no problems...I do thread twice through before tying off so to help it not breaking when the snakes squeeze
