I have a hatchling Banded Pygmy that fed on Sunday night. He ate a pinky rat.
Tonight (so 2 days later) when I put my hand near his click clack he struck at me and when he missed he grabbed the paper towel and coiled it. After about 10 seconds he let go. I put my hand near the enclosure again and he didn't strike again.

As a newbie I thought that a strike with a coil was hunger. But the rat I gave this little fella was big and left a massive lump.

Should I up his food size next week? A couple of weeks ago we gave him a Fuzzie Mouse that he struck and coiled but then left presumably because it was massive and he couldn't eat it!

Feeding more ofter not necessarily bigger. Mine sometimes go 4 days to 10 days depending on there moods

Snakes are opportunistic predators in nature and normally will attempt to eat whenever food is presented to them (or in you case assumed food).
