This bloke was hiding in the biggest bush for a couple of km! Refused to leave too. Nice set of claws.

Sorry but I just have a caption for that first photo lol "you see this? This is my lady and I love my lady. I love to put my arm around her and she thinks I make her look sexy" hahahaha. Great photos dude I love V.gouldi, plan to one day vist the Simpson dessert, alice springs and McDonald ranges for some herping and photography. How close did you manage to get? From my expirence a lot of the small-medium Varanus species are typically pretty skittish.
 
Walked straight up to him. He had nowhere to go really! Ha ha.
