Share the good and bad reptile stories of 2014 here.

Highs: Pygmy Beardies started hatching today. I got a few clutches from them last season as well as 6 tanami woma hatchies. It has been great getting update pics from people I've sold then to, it's nice to know they went to good homes.

Lows: We had a 47C day here two weeks ago combined with a power outage that killed two of my young Womas and their mother.

Share your stories.

Sorry about the Womas?.

High - purchased a proven breeding pr of Collett's Snakes!
Low - female laid a full clutch of slugs a couple of days ago :(

+1 on the woma's :(

High: purchasing my 1st carpets 2 jungles and a little dajarra locale.

Low: losing 2 of my dogs a few days apart to paralysis ticks :(
( sorry not herp related but luckily had no lows with my carpets)

I can now add another high. I came home to find my George town Stimson had laid a perfect clutch, it was my first time breeding them so I'm rather pleased. I'm also pretty lucky in that with over 100 eggs laid now I am yet to get a slug. Now if only my Darwin's would breed for me.

Sorry about your dogs and the clutch of slugs.

Highs Got my first Python she was a Murray Darling

Lows found out that my wife is petrified of snakes & now she has a new home.

Hope to get her to see there placid side so I can get another python later on next year.

High - Getting my first Albino Darwin
Low - Having to sell it due to tough times.

Highs: had 24 babies make it to full term and are still growing strong :)
Lows: I've lost about 18 eggs this season from a clutch of 30 surprise clutch of unknown father as it was a retained sperm clutch, mum not paired this season. 12 survived.

Some sad news there that's for sure.
Sorry for everyone's losses.

Lows (I like to get the bad news out of the way first)
After taking my first long weekend away in a long time to go and catch up with some of my family, I didn't check the forcast back at home.
Got back to my gravid Possible Het Axanthic Jungle dead from the heat and looked to have had a power outage as well.

Highs
Picked up a new stunning Albino Jag (possibly caramel as well, time will tell).

Lesson's Learnt
Always check the forcasted weather reports before going away for a few days.

High, so far having a good breeding season, plenty of things breeding or looking gravid, a couple of hatchlings.

Low, thermostat probe fell out of the incubator, cooked everything inside, time to start from scratch.

Not a mistake I'll be repeating ever again.

High...releasing over 100 baby king cobras was pretty special

Low...losing 7 injured snakes that could have survived with a decent vet available

Low... knowing that one village killed 7 kings and nests this season

High.... same village calling us about the 8th one

High..... watching people as their entire attitude changes after seeing what snakes are really like

High.... Indonesian government asking for BRR advice and hopefully introducing new protocols based on our conservation methods

Low: Losing our Murray River Short Neck Turtle after 7 years, had it since it was a hatchling.

High: Getting a diamond python earlier this year.

Try starting with lizards.
Yep done that.
My son has a beardie which at 1st my wife hated but now loves.
I was hoping the MD we had would do the same but she wouldn't give it a go.
