Hi all, just a quick update. The 2015 Sydney Reptile Expo at Castle Hill is on track to be the biggest show ever!... All 42 breeders tables sold out. We even have breeders traveling from Victoria and Queensland. There will be hundreds of reptiles for sale and loads of accessories at bargain prices. See you at the show!

This is the first time interstate breeders have attended the expo at Castle Hill to sell reptiles - and possibly the first time ever at a NSW expo - without a huge amount of paperwork required. Thanks to the assistance of National Parks the process has been greatly simplified and interstate sellers can now transfer animals on a 'temporary license' (which is issued to the expo organizer). This means if you purchase a reptile off an interstate seller you will not be required to apply for an import permit. It will just be like transferring ownership from another NSW licensed keeper. The 'temporary license number' will be used for sales and record keeping. However, the interstate seller is still required to apply for an export permit to cover all the animals s/he takes interstate and an import permit (minus the number sold) to bring them back. I see this as a big step forward in the evolution of reptile trade shows in Australia and I look forward to an increased participation from our friends across the border in years to come. Cheers, Adrian

That's a great trade development Adrian. This is a victory for common sense and it's good to see NPWS being progressive.
