Hey, any one ever had their male stimmie or other pythons lay belly up? Because my little man decided it was the positive for him last night.
And before you ask, he is not mistaken for a gravid female, she is currently belly up in a different enclosure, unless I have two immaculate conceptions.
 
yes i have smurf my maccie male does it when he needs to defecate, we actualy thought he was a female for 2 seasons until we saw him with his hemipienes hangin out when i put him in an enclosure with another female
 
Yes, males will lie inverted too.
Hence, having a female lie inverted is not a sure sign of being gravid.
 
my female stimie does this and so does my woma at times and they have no health issues what so ever :) guess they just need a change sometimes
 
Cheers for the responses. Glad to hear it's not unheard of. Just the first time I've seen a male do it.
Found it funny it was the night his mate laid her eggs, in a separate enclosure
