Looks like a shed from a blue tongue, they tend to shed in pieces like in your photos and you can see the markings of the bands typically seen on blueys

If I had to GUESS I'd have to say blue tongue . What reptiles have you seen around there before ?

Its just a blue tongue lizard shed. Scale size, shape and patterning are all wrong for a snake, and only lizard with that sort of patterning at that size are blue tongues.

I thought it was a bluey but wasn't certain. I haven't seen any reptiles around, but am thrilled to have a resident bluey, I admire snakes from afar but don't like them hanging around as I have terriers, as well as rabbits, rats and mice. I know they are probably around, but if I don't see evidence of them I'm happy. Appreciate them for what they are, just terrified of venomous snakes for my dogs' sake.
