Hey guys
Recently I bought a colony of woodies and I noticed that in the egg crates there was this larvae at first I thought it was mealworms but I've put them in a separate container with oatmeal and it looks like they're dying.
Can this be something that was feeding on the roaches eggs?
Thanks

Mealworms for sure.
Mine sometimes go black/darkish but seem to do fine.
I don't really notice though- I do have several thousand crawling around in tubs xD

They often come with woodie colonies, very useful little worms that eat the dead roaches and keep the roach enclosure clean. I have thousands living in the bottom of a 6 foot roach tank, and it never has that super gross dead roach smell, just the less gross insect smell. They turn into little beetles. Woodies don't lay their egg sacks, if yours are dropping egg sacks they need more heat.
