My friends dad saved this guy from the dogs around glen innes, he's wondering what it is?

Going by the extra long toe on the rear feet i would say it is a juvenile water dragon. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) -ronhalling

Thanks Ron, my guess was jacky dragon, I'm way off,..as usual, lol!

I wouldn't say a water dragon, toes don't seem gangly enough. Spiny scales on its back also seem too prominent, and the colouration and patterning doesn't look right, but that may be pixelation of the image on my phone. I'd go with Jacky dragon also, but I'm not up there with identifying agamids.

Edit: I'd definitely say it's not a water dragon. Had a better look.

In no way does that lizard resemble a Water Dragon juvenile. Based on the lizard's appearance and location I would say it's a Jacky Dragon (Amphibolurus muricatus).

EDIT: Spelling . . .

Thanks guys :) as i am not a Lizard person my "I would say" was purely a guess going by the toes and long tail, i was a bit surprised that @Chris1 did not give a definitive ID going by his affinity with Beardies, lol, oh well i am never usually right but i think i was wrong this time.
