As a somewhat new person to owning a reptile, winters coming up melbourne and i was wondering how i could keep the temperature up. Its been dropping recently and not sure how to fix.

Eastern carpet python around 4 - 5 months old. I might buy new bulbs only as a final option as the bulbs i already have are quite new.

Ahh ok
Is it in a tub or tank? My Hatchies are still all in tubs (6 mths old)
With heat cords keeping them at 32-34 degrees even at night

it's not a matter of how new your bulbs are but how warm they are! A lot of us keep a variety of different wattages so we can change them around as the seasons change.I have 25W up to 125W for my various critters.
You could also put in a CHE (ceramic heat emitter) to raise the temps overnight, just remember to put a light cage around it to prevent burns
