I use qr2id
Easy to use
Stick the qr code on you enclosure scan every time you do something.
When you sell the animal you can print of the information ane gife it to the new owner.

I use RetiWare. Yes you have to pay for it, but I don't have the time or energy to write my own. They have a free 60 day trial and to me, it is worth every cent. Have a look and decide for yourself.
