Male vs female snakes

Is there much difference between the 2? Any reason to favour one sex over the other? (Like how male birds tend to look better). Any size differences? I realise I’m being veeerrry broad here and not specifying any particular species, because I’m more just interested in a general overview.

Though I’ll specify if anyone has any of the above about olives and scrubs in particular. But curious about all pythons. Oh and I realise some species the males have spurs.

Females generally grow bigger.
I find that many buyers/keepers want a female with the thoughts of breeding down the track.
