hi i have had an Ackie for a little while i been experimenting with different substrates. tried sand but the monitor eats it and it ends up all through the water bowl.( I've tried a raised water bowl doesn't work) the best one I've had so far has been a coarse grade coconut husk bedding as he doesn't eat it and can burrow( doesn't hold burrows too well but he has always liked his rock and log setup i have for him) is this any good for them. some forums say its all good some say its all bad i don't know who to listen to. cheers

I've been using the coconut husk coir blocks from Bunnings mixed with a few kgs of sand, works quite well and also holds humidity nicely

I used coir peat for my Yellow Spotted Monitor when he was in an enclosure.
Now that he's outside though I just use dirt/sand.
Both seem to do the job fairly well.
