Egg tooth

how cool is this, it’s a lot smaller than i thought, but cool to see for my first time



If you don’t know, snakes are born with this tooth which only has one purpose; to cut the egg from the inside

Most the time it’ll break off, but this time it hasn’t and I suppose will fall off as it bumps into things or during its first shed

Hatchling turtles have them too, they generally lose them within the 1st week after hatching.
