I give up.

How do you post a picture if you can't upload from your own computer? I don't have my own web page so is there one available to members for this purpose?

Do I need to start a gallery and then link from the gallery back to the post?

I have tried everything I can think of and am stumped and ready to accept advice.

Thanks

Mack's mum.

You can use this site that host pics

http://imageshack.us/

then cut n paste the code line from it here, between

:D

Imageshack worked well. Thanks for the advice. Still don't know how people get their photos to display in the post rather than just a link.

Really happy to get the gecko photo done.

Thanks again.

Simply paste this code into your post and replace the text LINK with the link to the image:

<img src="LINK">

Try posting to this thread and paste the code below into your post.

<img src="http://img213.exs.cx/img213/6839/zeus0ro.jpg">

Cheers.

go to photo gallery on the left (its a link) then go to personal galleries, then go to where it says admin options on the left go add photos and start up a gallery. After u have done all that upload some images. once u have an image uploaded click on it so it enlarges then right click on it and go properties. once properties has popped up there should be some info that say www.aussiepythons.com/gallery/......... etc. highlight that then copy and paste that in a thread in between and [img/] (or what ever it is ) (no spaces between the [img] and the file name etc)

hope this helps

To do what Z@C is saying, copy this line into your post:

zeus0ro.jpg

You can right click any image to get a link to it, it doesn't have to be located in a gallery here, this method will display your imageshack image directly, this is probably easier to understand, but if you use the HTML method that I showed, you can also specify the size of the image, for example, your gecko image is 1200 pixels X 900 pixels. When it displays here you have to scroll to the right to view the whole thing, this isn't really a big deal, but you can stop it by using this HTML:

<img src="http://img213.exs.cx/img213/6839/zeus0ro.jpg" width="600" height="450">

This will display your image, but it will resize it to 600 pixels X 450 pixels, in other words 50% of its original size, if this still causes the scroll you could make it smaller, whatever number you stick in the width property will be the display width, the same with the height property.

Both of these methods will allow you to display the image directly. If you don't care about the size of the image, just use Z@C's method.

Cheers.

When you host on imageshack, it gives you a complete code, just paste the whole thing in your post, no extra tags needed! :D

You can resize an image befor uploading to imageshake, by right clicking it, and choose "edit"
this opens the pic in ms paint.
click on "image" at top, then choose "stretch/skew"

gives you this box

you just alter the % to 50 or whatever suits you and click "file" and "save as". be sure to change the filetype (beneath file name) to "jpeg"
thats it! :D
obviously I didnt resize these last two images, way too big, 25/30% from original is best.

I am trying to put it in here but I haven't got it right yet. I have posted and deleted about 3 times as I didn't want my failure to be see by anyone - you were too quick for me.

Anyway, here is another try. Fingures crossed that you can see Zeus' enclosure.

???Thats odd. When you have uploaded it to imageshack and have the screen shown above, simply highlight the entire line shown
then hold "ctrl" button and hit "c". then here in the forum, hold "ctrl" button and hit "v" and submit. Try again, i really wanna see it
now! :D

Apparently, "the extension array is not allowed".

I think I'll stick with posting links instead of pictures.

Looks like it worked anyway!! I am so clever but I don't know what I did differently this time.

Thanks to everyone who offered help.

Mack's mum.
