I don't think the picture is acutally referring to the snake in the story. Apart from the obvious fact that it isn't a diamond, the likelyhood of a python that skinny being 2.3 meters long is nonexistent.

The snake in the pic is Ned who's the carpet, Lucy is the Diamond...they just wrote Diamond instead of carpet
