hi everyone. does anyone know where u can buy red desert sand in sydney for a cheap price???

cheers

damian

up here in central qld it is uite expensive, its like $10 -$15 for a smallish bag, cant remember the excact weight but its not cheap

I keep alot of sand loving lizards and use "Sydney washed sand" costs about five bucks for twenty kg. at this price you can replace it more often. Red sand does look good but ends up to costly.

I think Sydney Reptiles at Hunter St, Parramatta has 20kg bags of red desert sand. I bought a couple of bags from Greg when they were still out at Lidcombe.

cool i might give sydney reptiles a call.yeah its too expaensive to buy in those small bags.

Upmarket pets in Melbourne had some. It was my token purchase when checking the place out a couple fo months back. Our little geckos seem to do well on it and it looks great.

I think 5Kg will set you back about $8 so it is not exactly cheap.

Just a notification for the benefit of those who enquired,

Sydney Reptile Supplies
shop 5/10 Hunter st Parramatta
ph. 9635 0002

does stock Red sand! we offer $20 kg bags at just $20

This has been a community service announcement :)

P.s I buy it for my geckos!

I sell it for only $10 for as much as you can carry. My stockpile is in central Australia, pick up only.

I actually use three colours of sand (yellow, reddish and deep red) I might consider selling some of mine off (what I have in Melbourne :p ) in a couple of months. If I do I'll match the 20kgs for $20 price.

no if u wash it it will be white sand again u may as well of bought brickies sand to start with .. lol

Um... red sand has been sitting out there for zillions of years, rain falls on it, it's red forever. Some people even use it in fish tanks, it stays as red as it was a zillion years ago.
