snake ate bark !

hey guys whilst my smake was eating she got some bark in his mouth and managed to swallow som of it while other bits are still in his mouth ... what should i do ?

not much you can do but wait and hope it goes through ok.

i would change the substrate before next feed though... newspaper is cheapest, and easiest to change.

swallowing bark is not a good idea though and can cause problems to the animals, hope it turns out ok.

you prolly should get the bark that is stuck in its mouth out first of all

next time use your forceps (tweezers that you feed him with) to grap the bark out.. i had the same problem..

How big was the piece of bark and the snake?

I admit to confusion on its gender after reading the original post...

Or in my opinion dont feed the snake in its enclosure take it out and feed it in an seperate container... But if your really worried take it to a vet....JMO

That's why I feed in a different container with only paper as substrate. I hope he's ok!

it was only a small peire of bark

this is why i dont feed in enclosures. mind you i only use newspaper as substrate...
i would monitor it pretty closely.
