G'day guys,

I was out last night at one of my usual gecko spots, and there was a young Fence Skink (Cryptoblepharus virgatus) actively foraging in the pitch black. This is the first time I have seen this, and whilst it is reasonably common to get diurnal species active on very hot nights (dragons, monitors, temperate elapids etc), it was only about 23 degrees.

Has anyone else seen them active at night before?

Cheers

I have seen garden skinks feeding near lights before, not these guys though. An interesting obsevation thanks for sharing.

yeah thats unusual ,but at 23 deg the rock may have been warmer?
or the skink was particularly active some some other reason?
