who knows maybe bacteria in the soil breaks down wastes and so on... like in the wild .. who knows .. like taking a chunk of nature and putting it in ur room hahaha.. i wonder if dats illegal

Generally the idea is to make it self regulating.
The waste is broken down by plants / fungi / bacteria.
