The file snakes we saw there were about a metre and a half each.
I am using the canon 50d with the 100mm L macro lens.
That one was found at Dimbulah (saw a few that night), also heard that they are in the Mareeba Wetlands area.

Great thread Nick, some nice finds and stunning pics!!! The P.textilis are cool, funny about the crap :), the Egernia skink was an awesome find!

Stunning macro shots Nick, very impressive. Shame most of your collection died while you where away :(.
The Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens and just used the built in flash, hence why it’s darker in the corner of the Planigale pic.
Got a slightly better camera(canon 50D) on monday so thought I'd share some wild herp pics I've taken since then, enjoy!

Around 5m, wheather that be less or not, however I thought the two lanes where a good 4-5m wide. and yes very sure it was a bhp because I even got...
I never said longer then the road but longer then the lanes(so width), and whatever the lanes were it was longer then that with the tail on one...
amazingly it would have been around 5m imo which is huge since they are averge at about 3m.
We once saw a BHP(alive) on the road and it was longer then the two lane bitchumen road so yeah quite long.
