So my childreni has begun to shed, fed him Tuesday, ate with his normal gusto and gave him a bath cause he got dirty :) and went for a cuddle on Wednesday and saw his scales going dull, fast forward to today more dull colour and his eyes have clouded over. All great signs! Had a quick shower...

He still ate on Tuesday though (very happy!) I gave him a bath that day, something nice and warm to help kick start the shed. He's...

What should be done with sibs?

No one is going to stop the breeding of jags, zebras other cross morphs, so what should be done with the sibs? I personally think that they should be culled, so that these mongrels don't get sold and then passed off as "pure".

Bursts of activity in otherwise docile snakes

I want to understand why sometimes snakes that are normally docile and content to sit around doing nothing all day get super active every now and then. I've noticed my snakes doing it every now and then for about a day, then they're back to normal again. The only reasons I can really think of is...

    Dropped Snake

I was letting my sister hold my 8 month old spotted when it slid off her arm and fell to the floor. It was about a 3foot drop. She seems fine, appears to be moving ok and isn't angry or agitated, but I'm still worried about her. Could she be hurt and not showing it?

    Playing Devil's advocate...

Ok playing Devil's advocate here... Justin Julander keeps pairs of carpets together all year round. He is one of the main guys involved with carpets and many other snakes for that matter. Now if it's good enough for him, why do so many people with only a fraction of his experience say not to do it?

    Not eating

My 7 month old childrens python has gone off her food. She has always been a good feeder. She doesn't strike or constrict her fuzzies but still gets them down. Hi everyone. I have had my 6 month old childrens python for about 3 weeks now. She has been eating well until today. She just looked at it (a fuzzy) for a few seconds then completely ignored it. First snake, Stimson or Children's python?

Hey guys, I have recently been allowed to get a pet snake and I have done some research. I'm not sure what snake is best for beginner, a Stimson or children's python. I like the look of Stimson pythons better but I would rather have a snake that I can look after easier than one that looks...

    Classic forms.

Does no one prefer the classic forms of reptiles anymore? It seems all I read is people getting excited over 'super, lime, banana-heads' and what not. Renting with reptiles

Was just curious what people know about this as I have been told as they are not a domestic pet and live in containment, like a fish for example that you don't have to declare them on your lease. Genetic questions

My questions is about the pied mutation. (have never seen a pied effect in any australian snake) Now to me I look at this and it looks as if it a codominace where both normal traits and albimism are expressed in the phenotype. However can codominant traits be reproduced? How is this genetic...

Curious to see how everyone ended up with scalies in their house and at what age. :) For me it is how ancient and different they are, and how successful they have been over millions of years.
