Hey all, i know it's probs something very simple but for what reasons would my 5 year old female Spotty be laying on its back in the hide, the hide is situated over the heat mat which is kept at a steady 34 deg C and is under the enclosure, i lifted the hide to clean the enclosure and found her laying completely curled up on her back, there is no projected heat in the hide and has never been with the male which is kept in the enclosure next to her and is separated by 1/4" ply barrier.

Is she thinking she is Gravid because of the male pheromones wafting around? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) -ronhalling

They actually lay on their back to thermoregulate, so it may be perfectly normal.

In the 5 years i have owned them Neither spotty has been found to be laying on their backs until now, i clean regularly and part of my regime is to lift the hides to check for urates and fecal matter and they have always been belly down. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) -ronhalling
