Ant lions

Just had a closer look at some ant lions, glad i'm not an ant.

Awesome photos, I remember watching an episode of Mega Bug Wars (I think that is what it is called) where ant after ant became trapped in their pits. Was quite fascinating.

Many ants were sacrificed to the ant lion pits at the front of our house when we were kids! :lol:

I love ant loins! It's the only reason I used to go to my nans so I could drop ants in the trap.

The ant falls in (sometimes with some help) and the pit kind of vibrates and dirt is kicked in the air then you see the tip of claws grab it and the ants gone, dragged under like quicksand.
Fascinating to kids, terrifying to the poor ants!
