Hi Everyone,
With snake hatchlings and once they've had a shed, what's some recommended ways/methods to help the young snakes get the trapped or excess skin off (especially around the tails)? Interested in some methods that people utilise to try and help out or get those trapped bits off.
Thanks

Soak them.
Put them in water that is the same depth as the height of the snake with a small branch or something so that if they want they can sleep with their head up on something. Put it on a heat mat and keep the water at 29-32 or so degrees and you can leave it there for hrs. Any unshed skin will fall off like a wet bandaid.

I find spraying hatchlings daily when there in shed helps
If it's there first shed then I keep them on damp paper towel

For retained shed in all ages of snake, I wrap them in a damp Tea towel or pillow slip for at least 15 minutes and then gently rub off the retained scales using my fingers. If they protest, you can keep their head in the cloth and just expose the bit with retained shed and no teeth.
