The Manning River Turtle Conservation Group is hosting a free community information evening on Tuesday night, August 21 at Wingham Memorial Services Club.

Australian Reptile Park general manager and head of conservation, Tim Faulkner will be heading a team, including TV regular Dan Rumsey, from the ARP and Aussie Ark who will be talking about the Manning River helmeted turtle.

In addition to presenting information on the turtle, Tim will talk about his plans for creating an insurance population at ARP.

A nationwide crowd funding campaign is being launched on the night to raise funds to build facilities for keeping the turtles.

The evening starts at 7.30pm in the auditorium. It is a completely free event and all interested members of the community are welcome.
