Bird ID

    Does anyone know what bird this is? I am horrible with birds and have no clue it all. I'm very curious though as it followed me for about 10 minutes while herping the other day.

    Ah thank you I thought that is what it was but it looked just a tiny bit too dark from all the photos I saw.

    It looks like a boobook but I've never seen one active during the day
