blood under scales

any one ever seen blood under or in the scales in pythons? and what causes it?

Mites, or ticks. But it would be hard to get a tick on a captive snake. Anything in the environment that could be irritateing the skin? E.g any sharp objects, Substrate thats to co****? Any traces of uncleaned chemicals left in the tank? Not sure if it would be any of this, but this is what i would check first.

Do you mean blood under their ventral scales showing up as pink patches, ar actual blood under the scales that you can squeeze out?
