    I saw this on a U.K. reptile forum the other day and It looks pretty painful for them

    Its a risk taken importing reptiles from all over the world SFD is likely not native to the U.S either and may have come from asia, africa, or south america due to the hundreds of thousands of reptiles imported from those continents. there is also a similar fungal disease affecting amphibians all over the world.. (apparently the same family) lets hope lizards are not next.

    Ah yes, you must be referring to chytrid fungus - (Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis).
