Cant really judge on personality cause ive never owned some of those. But looks wise i reckon the woma would be a sick man!!!

as stated above Womas arent carpets but are one of my favourites to work with and the first snake i ever handled, I Rarely have had problems with diamonds being snappy. ive worked with literally like 2 jungles that werent psycho but all snakes have a tenendencie not to be and to be snappy. Womas are awesome

Alright it will probably take me a few weeks to decide on a snake but so far am leaning towards normal darwins but will look at all the snakes husbandry requirements as i only know the basics of keeping which one and that will probably help me decide

For a beginner a Darwin Carpet or Woma would be best. Diamonds almost always die young in captivity, and jungles tend to be high strung (some are calm, you may get lucky). My personal preference would be for a Woma, due to their fun and comical character, but it's your snake, you choose what's best for you, not anyone else :)

I have been curious about the same questions and have been doing a fair bit of reading this morning. Do lots of research. I think some other useful research steps would be to visit a breeder pet shop, perhaps handle the subspecies you’re interested in, ask questions, ask the same questions at a few different stores or breeders, but also see how you feel when you see and handle the snake. I’ve been also reading that a regularly handled - on top of a happy and healthy snake whose needs are being met - goes a long way toward a snake that is calm when being held.

I had a Jungle Carpet Python. He was a little nippy, but he was a good boy. A very curious boy when I handled him and I think I was lucky with his temperament. He really only struck when someone (not me) quickly stuck their hand in over him or in front of him and he felt threatened.

At the moment, I’m looking at Diamond pythons because I’ve heard they’re quite docile in nature. Also I live in Victoria and I believe they’re from eastern NSW down to eastern parts of Victoria.

Anyway, I’ll be interested in what you decide to do!
