Chat has been causing the mod and admin team consternation for some time now. Younger members who happen to be in there are receiving an education in some quite inappropriate areas, people are using chat to say things that they know they would not be allowed to say in the forums, and problems are spilling over from chat to the forums.

For appropriateness, and site peace and stability, we have decided to close chat for a time. It is not a necessity that one always discuss reptiles in there, but pornographic topics are unsuitable, and petty arguments and bickering unpleasant and a nuisance.

We are sorry to have to do this, but see it as an action we need to take.
