When chat was installed here Admin were at pains to point out that they took no responsibilty for what went on in there.Why the change of attitude?

Please read post where green willow is explaining that people are bringing problems from chat to our forums on this site.

The answer is too easy : monitor chat and ban certain people from entering for a night, a week, month or forever. This 'blanket' approach in banning chat for all is undemocratic, unAustralian and as immature as the people who go into chat with gutter mouths, no reptiles, and nothing herpetological to say.

We have a great site here with the free exchange of ideas, friendships, and the opportunity to buy quality herps from the people who breed them. There are plenty of members that do the right thing. Don't punish them when you mean to punish but a few.

Nicely said.. and this seems to be a reasonable arguement...

it looks like the app has loaded, but cannot connect. if you're running windows firewall this could be the cause. just enable port 6667 in windows firewall and you should be fine. (i hate windows firewall, blocks everything indiscriminantly)

call it irc_tcp_6667 and the port 6667 and you should be fine.
