does anyone have or know anyone who has western's with this type of colour variation? or is this a common colouring?

just a guess but id say it would be common.
the shinglebacks over there are spectacular too...
very nice colouring...
 
I don't know of anyone who has them, but it's quite common among the wild ones. Although usually the stripes are all the way through, not mottled like this little guy.
 
there amazing, i have never seen any with colours like this in capativity!
 
There are some babies on Herp trader atm that look similar, though the mottling on the black is not as heavy as the one in your pic
 
sarah, i did see those ones - there all sold though. also not quite as much lite colouring as on this guy.
so the general consenses is these are a fairly normal colouring?
