Hey guys, I'm hoping for a few opinions on the ID of this dragon, taken in Townsville a few years ago (dune vegetation at the top of the beach at Pallarenda to be exact). Now to me it looks like Diporiphora bilineata (Two-lined Dragon). but thats a somewhat superficial opinion, based on pattern and colouration. Based on distribution, it looks like it should be D.australis (Tommy Roundhead), cause bilineata aren't supposed to extend this far south are they? I have heard of them occuring around Townsville though, plus this doesn't look quite like any Tommy Roundheads whos photo I've looked at. So any help either way would be greatly appreciated.

Diporiphora Australis (tommy round head)

cheers HK.

hi Oriolus, the colour and pattern you can't really go by as they are both very similar and vary considerably
the way to tell is the gular folds on a tommy round head (D. Australis)
the two lined dragon (D.bilineata) doesn't have them
sorry, I should have pointed that out earlier
cheers HK.

I've got pics of both Jason, but it could take weeks to find em"
I have disk after disk and usb card after usb card - literally thousands of pics LOL you know how it gets...
maybe David (moloch) would be a quicker fix ?
cheers HK.
(ps) I'll start looking though LOL

Thanks for the id herpkeeper, much appreciated
