Dragon Jerky? West MacDonells

    This desiccated specimen was found in heavy spinifex north of Ormiston Gorge in the West MacDonnels, NT (about 700m above sea level) in mid-May. I'd like to ID it because it was one of three winter reptiles I saw on a five-day walk. Cheers.

    It's monitor jerky, not dragon. You have a Varanus acanthurus tail there.
