I haven't heard much about them but they are freaking gorgeous.

Does anyone keep/breed them?

according to a book i have they arent on the mainland.. they are found on an island just off the top of QLD and yes they are gorgeous.. havent seen any for sale though,,,

There are several islands in the Torres Strait that are Australian Territory, when you fill out forms it asks "are you of Aboriginal or T S I origon"

So tecnically if you found one on Thursday Island it would be a native.

but yes gex they are nice, but find a European varanid site and search and you will find they are quite problematic and very shy, most varanids are shy but some are a lot less shy than the prasi's.

There are non in captivity (in Australia) and if they ever pop up in someone's collection, be sure that the authorities would get very interested.
By the way, the Cape York species (V. keithhornei) is grey and despite rumors, the green V. prasinus does not occur at Iron Range.
