enregy save globe worry

hey all, when i arrived home from work today i noticed the 8w energy saving globe in my caprets enclosure was about half the brightness of an identical globe in another enclosure, i removed it straight away and found a hairline crack in the glass. its been in there for 4 to 5 months. my worry is that obviously some of the gas has leaked out. the snake hasnt come out of his hide for about 4 days but he is in shed so didnt really worry me till now. ive moved him out for a bit while i air out the enclosure and he seemed normal for when he's shedding, very cranky. just mostly wanted to know if this has happened to anyone before or if there is anything i should look out for. i'm not really sure whats in those globes or how dangerous. any help would be great

they are full of mercury. not that good for one.

it should be fine, but they do contain mercury.

Iv had 2 bulbs come away from the screw fitting latley from over heating (mecury vapour and a large URS heat light)
It has not harmed my frogs that it was above (it happened 2 months agoi)
so if it does not harm my frogs i doubt it would harm ur snake
