Hey All,

Dont really know much about geckos at all. Was out at our place in Goomburra (near warwick) last night and have never seen a gecko out there before. This little guy was cruising around the house. What sort is it?

Thanks in advance,
Dave

thanks for that....was looking in field guide and I thought the pattern matched to the picture they had but the base colour of the gecko is much paler than their picture and also as it is described.

Do they change colour? or are they just variable? Are they rare? I have never seen one out there before - or any gecko before this one.

Cheers,
Dave

yes they change colour, in the day a lot of geckos are very dark looking, but at night they turn pale and really show there colour. they are very common, usually found under bark on trees during day, they seem to like living on buildings.

yeah defiantly a Robust Velvet Gecko. gorgeous little creatures :)
