Gecko ID?

Hey guys, the neighbours up the road found a little gecko in their backyard and brought it to me so I could take some quick photos. Is it a velvet gecko or something along those lines? Found in Wollongong just south of Sydney. Thankyou.

uhm, around 85mm?
i had one that was around 70 but wasnt fully grown

I agree that it looks like Gehyra variegata, however it's out of this species natural range.
This species is not normally found in Wollongong.
Perhaps the residents of the place where this gecko was found inadvertently brought back a hitchhiker from out west.
Geckos such as this can hitch rides in caravans etc.
