My 8 month old coastal carpet is named Diablo and is sounding as crazy as yours haha must be the name! Take the gloves off and dont bother with a hook honestly, im not a pro but just dont be scared put ur hand infront of him so he knows ur not gonna hurt him than gently pick him up even when they go crazy just support there body and they will calm down!! best of luck
