Hi all,
I was curious if someone could help.
Recently I bred my first Diamond Python hatchlings.
Only six hatched due to some unfortunate circumstances and and my inexperience.
All six were in excess of 400mm when born and at about three weeks of age were all between 440 and 465mm long and about 24 grams.
Is this large for a Diamond or about normal, some people I have spoke with seem to think they were quite large for hatchlings.
Any input greatly appreciated.
Cheers Michael

In richard shines book he states that the average snout to vent size for a hatchlig is 32 cm.

Pythons of the World: Vol 1 Australia, Barker and Barker has the average hatchling length at 39.8cm (36.8 to 42.5cm range in sample), and the average weight at 22.4g (17 to 26.1g range in sample). So your guys seem about right size and weight, if slightly longer than average.
