Heat Mat Trouble

Hi, I'm getting my first SWCP hatchling tomorrow so I've set up its click clack and the heat mat doesn't seem to be getting hot enough the hottest I can get it to is 27° C its a 2.5W and the plastic tub is 30x40. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Either you need a more powerful heat mat, or a smaller tub. 30 x 40 is large for a hatchie.

Could you possibly swap it for a 5 watt mat?

Heat cord.... Cheap and easy to modify to reach optimum temperatures.
