heating for baby blue tounge

How long should I have the heat lamp on for a couple of blue tounges they are 2 months old,at the morement they are in a 1ft by 1ft tank (I am waiting for a biggerr tank) its a 50 watt heat lamp

Six to eight hours a day is plenty. Most will only bask for short times only.
