Atelopus glyphus, the Pirri harlequin frog (http://apps.facebook.com/causes/sharings/300526?m=e09cd333))inhabits the highlands of eastern Panama and adjacent Colombia. This species is considered Critically Endangered by the IUCN because of the predicted arrival of amphibian chytrid fungus within the next 5 years and scientists are fairly certain they will be successful with this species in captivity because of previous husbandry research conducted at the El Valle Amphibian Conservation Center. Preventing the imminent extinction of the Pirri harlequin frog from will cost $53,000. That amount includes $41,000 for the facility and $12,000 for the first year of operation.
