Hi from Josh & Cammi

Hello everyone,

I'm Josh, and my daughter Cammi who's 5, have recently got our first pythons, and would love to join this community to share our experiances, and learn heaps more.

We both have a python each, Cammi has a 19 month old female coastal, named Everest, we've only had her for about 8 weeks.

I have a Bredli x Coastal ( was hoping for a straight bredli ) hatchling, about 5 months old, hoping it's male, got it about 3 weeks ago, named Tsunami.

Still working towards an ideal set up for both. Both eat well, the smaller still on mice and Everest on rats, both are quite placid and haven't bitten yet.

2 weeks ago we got a eastern Bearded Dragon, male that's 4, and we called him Rio.

We also have 2 eastern long necks, about 5 and 6 years old, Cammi has Squirm, and I have Donnie Darko.

Cammi also has a Yashenkoi Scorpion female, Sub Zero, we think around 3rd instar, and it's ultra highly strung.

Probably going to get a blue tounge next, and I'd like a rough scaled python and a scruby.

Look forward to sharing more along the journey.

Welcome guys. Is that an elo in the last pic? I have a couple of those + tarantulas + pythons + file snake + fish......etc, etc.

Welcome, there is plenty of good advice on the forum and people more than willing to help. My one bit of advice is to use the search bar before you post as with seeing the same question every week people don't tend to bother answering.

Hello and welcome :D

You and your daughter share a beautiful collection :)

Welcome to the forums. I love the enclosure. It reminds me of the old meta frame fish tanks.

Thanks guys, appreciate the search advice, car forum vet for last 12 years, well versed on search, actually been lurking since just before I got Everest, reading up trying to gain some knowledge.

The Scorpion Uradacus Yaschenkoi, the main specie called the desert scorpion. Keen to get more in time. This one is a burrowing type, so she hides away a lot.

Actually just bought and put together a new tank for Everest today, I'm much happier with it. When I got her, ( gumtree ) she had only ever had a heat stone. Never a light and no climbing opputunities. She now has a 100 watt moonlight heat light, and a 14w heat matt on tge bottom. I'll post up some before and after.

The first pic I took of her, an old fish tank, black taped border, and all she had was the heat stone, her little hide pot and a water bowl :-(

This was the first night, and first time holding a snake by myself, I was pretty nervous getting her out, still am a bit.

So first things was to get her a heating light. And then made up something she could climb on, it's crude, but its fun evolving my tanks to be better.

The old jail cell finally retired yesterday...

And the new, I'm heaps happy with it so far, still a ways to go but I think a step in the right direction. I'm hoping she's happier in her new home with us.

Next step for Everest, a custom back rock wall with a ledge, UV light and get a good grasp on her heating and humidity requirements. Oh, and a new water dish this week.

Roughly what stage do people transfer from a click clack to a normal enclosure ?
I think I might have jumped the gun on putting the Bredli x Coastal into an enclosure already ?
I was originally thinking of putting him into another setup same size as the larger coastal, would it be too early for something that big ?
